Sao Domingos: Heart, Might, Mind, and Strength

This past week we had both multi-zone pday and multi-zone conference meaning for two days in a row we got to be with half the missionaries in our mission. It was a lot of fun to get to know everyone and also the training were really good.

In one training I really loved, the Elders shared D&C 4:2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.

He talked about how some times on the mission (and in life), we give our might and strength to something without giving our mind and heart. We are here doing the work, but our mind is back home thinking about our family, and we need a kind of resurrection to reunite our bodies and our spirits in the work. I was thinking about this in terms of our Sunday worship. I think sometimes we fall in the routine of going to church where are bodies are physically present but our minds are elsewhere.

In 3 Nephi 18 we have the account of the Savior teaching about the sacrament. As I read that this week I thought about how special it would have been to be in the presence of the Savior and learn from Him. But, yesterday I realized that we all have this opportunity to learn from Him and feels His presence as we remember during the sacrament every week. We need to make sure that during this special moment every week, we are present physically and mentally! We aren't worried about other things or what we are going to eat, but we are truly focused on Christ and what the Holy Ghost has to teach us during this time.

Some other things that happened this week:

Interviews with President Cook so we got to see the Cooks for the 3rd day this week which was awesome!!

English Classes, and after our class Saturday we showed all who were interested the chapel and they asked lots of questions!

Lunch with our family away from family the Kutomis.

Sister Olson hit 17 months, she only has 1 left.

We had a family night with a family in our ward and one of our investigators where we talked about the restoration. It was a fun night but apparently our investigator showed up and hour early which we felt bad about.

Our friend Benjamin lives outside our area so we got to teach him the story of the restoration with those Elders and it was all in English which was a nice break!

Yesterday was the election here in Brazil so for safety reasons, we stayed inside after lunch. We heard lots of shouting and fireworks as the night went on but thankfully nothing too eventful happened.

It rained a lot this week but it was great because it helped get us into the house of one of our investigators where we got to help her do some service!

Nothing too funny happened this week so I'll end the email here! Hope everything is okay with yall. Stay safe and stay happy!!
