Arvore Grande: Missionarias: o Food do Evangelho
This week was full of strange events and funny moments and even though the week passed by quickly, it is weird to think it has only been a week.
There was one day we were walking and we had three different people stop us on the street to talk with us. There were a lot of events that were delaying us leaving the house that day but as we were leaving I had the impression that these things happened exactly for the reason to place us in the path of the right people. And sure enough we ended up talking to these three people, one of which came to church with us on Sunday. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
We were talking with a young women named Amanda and she goes "I know how you sat my name in English: Mama Mia!" It took all our effort to not burst out laughing. She then asked me to ask her something in English so I asked her if she likes to pray and she responds with "oui" (french). It was a funny conversation.
We had the chance to do a blitz with the Sisters of our zone and they are incredible. I am so grateful for the chance to work with them.
We saw lots of miracles this week and lots of them are happening because less active members of our ward are coming back to church and bringing people with them!!!
The members of our wards are absolutely amazing. One family bought us McDonald's and another bought us yakisoba. They are always so quick to offer us redes. But even more than that, they are getting excited about sharing the gospel! We got to visit the seminary class and talk with the youth about missionary work.
And on Sunday our ward mission leader gave a powerful talk on missionary work. At one point he asked why when we are giving gifts we walk all the way to the store to buy a Tupperware when we could give the Book of Mórmon! And then he says that the missionaries are here to help and can even deliver the Book of Mórmon to these people. Missionaries are the ifood of the gospel! (ifood is a food delivery service here in Brazil) Me and my companion thought that was pretty funny.
I love being a missionary and I am so grateful for every opportunity that I have to share the gospel. This week I remembered a talk that I love by Elder Holland, songs sung and unsung. The Lord knows are heart, he knows us in the good times and bad times. He will not leave us lonely.
