Arvore Grande: It Is All Worth It
This week was amazing and a little bit heart wrenching.
Sister Viera and I will be staying in Árvore Grande and Granja Olga which is exciting but our zone got switched up. We've got some new Sisters in the zone and we got moved to a new district! I will miss our district of Piedade, because it really was an amazing experience. I learned a lot from Elder Paixão (our district leader), but everything happens for a reason!
We had district pday today and I can already see that it is going to be another amazing transfer!!
We had the biggest miracle this week! For weeks now we have being working with all our might but not seeing a lot of progress in our area. But this week Juliana and her 3 children came to church! My heart was sooooo full of joy in the moment. And almost everyday my companion and I talk about how it is all worth it. All the difficulties and hard moments are worth it to help that one person who is really needing it. She shares with us the spirit that she feels as she reads the book of Mórmon. It is truly a miracle for us and for our ward. All of the members were so happy.
This week we had a super hard day and our last appointment had fall through, but as we were walking we ran into a member and they gave us a ride and on the way bought us pastels. It made my wee! (And now I am low-key addicted to pastels, they are sooo good!)
There was another couple that we taught which was an interesting experience. For weeks they have been remarking with us so we thought that they were not super interested but out pf nowhere one day they sent a message to tell us they were free. So we went and taught them about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the end of the lesson the women goes, "so you are saying that we have all of the churches today because after Christ died, men started creating churches. But that there is only one church that is the Church of Jesus Christ and that is the church we need to follow." And we were like, yeah, that is exactly what we are saying. And she told us that it makes a lot of sense. (Let's hope she reads the book of Mórmon so that she can feel and know that this is true!)
We are having some amazing experiences working with the members of our ward. They are supporting us so much and participating in lessons with us. 100% recommend working with the members. It makes all the difference and it helps them as they feel the spirit!
Love you all!!
Sister Pinkney
