Arrival in Brazil: Alto Elders
So I am the shortest one in the district, no surprise there. But the surprise is just how tall all of the Elders are. After landing in Atlanta, Elder Van Dam and I were waiting at the gate when all of a sudden, Elder Faust walked up. Santa Cebola, he was wayyy taller than he looked on camera. The surprises continued as a few minutes later an army of 10 missionaries from Utah arrived and every single one of the Elders from my district were so tall. I feel so short when I am standing with them and when I say as much they remind me that I am in fact, short. But, they are all so amazing. After a short adventure, we met up with Sister Brookes and it was such a happy meeting.
The plane ride was tough but all seven of us from my district sat together. We hardly slept, despite great effort, but we were able to get to know each other better. The Elders are a hoot, way more fun than they appeared on zoom! I am so glad to be in a district with them!
Well, after a few long hours, we made it to São Paulo and it is beautiful. The CTM is wonderful. I love everything about it and the people are so kind. I can already tell this is going to go by too fast.
One experience I had in the airport is that while we were walking around I felt the impression that we needed to make sure we were acting as representatives of Christ even then. It was hard to focus on that when we wanted so much to have fun and get to know each other. But, because we did our small group had a few opportunities to share what we were doing. I talked a little bit with a girl named, Anna from Brazil.
Always remember who you are representing.
