Sao Domingos: Cat and Mouse
We have started teaching English classes and it has been amazing. We started out small but our class is growing slowly and surely. We are excited to see how it grows and see the opportunities that come from it! My companion especially is such an amazing teacher and it is really great to learn from her!
My companion and I were woken up one night this week to strange sounds in our house. It probably took an hour to get the confidence to turn on the light, and probably another hour to go into the kitchen. We have a new friend (mouse) who we named Charles. And now if anything happens in our house we blame Charles although we have great hopes that he has left.
One day this week, we were going to the church to exercise and on the way in we passed a dead cat. We thought "hmm, that is strange" and went about our day. But later we were talking to the Elders and they said that they had been called to take care of the cat. And so one of the Elders put on plastic gloves and put the cat in the trash can of the bus stop in front of the Chapel. Picture below. This made my day when I saw the picture.
This week, I was inspired by the story of Nephi being told to build a boat. Sometimes I feel like Nephi with my missionary work. I have been called to do this big amazing thing but I don't necessarily know how. The Lord knows though, this is His work and as I turn to Him and rely on His instruction I know that I'll be able to do the things he needs me to.
As I've reached the 2-month mark of my mission, my companion has two months left. Kinda crazy to be at opposite points!
