Sao Domingos: The Lord Never Forgets Us

I think this past week was one of my hardest yet, but that is good. It means I am growing.

Last week I read this scripture that took on new meaning for me this week: 1 Nephi 21:

14 But, behold, Zion hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me—but he will show that he hath not.

15 For can a awoman forget her sucking child, that she should not have bcompassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may cforget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the apalms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

The Lord truly knows us. He truly knows what we need and He has put us in the places where we will best be tried and tested, and ultimately grow and become more like our Savior. Even in our hard times, our moments of waiting on the Lord, of polishing and refinement, we can have joy in our Savior. He has not forgotten us. He will not abandon us. He has engraved us upon the palms of His hand because of His sacrifice for us. He knows our pain. What a blessing this is in our lives! As we learned in the last conference, Jesus is always the answer.

Food this week: Tried a lot of new interesting fruits this week. Also tried making pancakes, apple pie, syrup, tortillas, and juice. All of which tasted okay, but not quite the way it should. Hopefully with time I will get better at these improvised recipes.

English Class: Our students are progressing so well! It is an amazing thing to see how much people can grow and learn just with a small bit of effort. I am so proud of each and everyone of them. People continue to bring their friends and ask us questions about the Church which is really cool to see.

One funny thing is that our primary room has the 10 commandments, and they are wrong! I mean they are all good things but they are not the 10 commandments which was very funny to us.

This Sunday we sang a musical number with the young women of the ward! We sang "Teach Me To Walk In The Light." It was fun to sing in português!

Other highlights:

- Pday with our district today!!!

- Coxina in a cup

- A Sister in the ward made us headbands

- A door matt that says "Oh no, you again"

- A cute couple in our ward that made us cake
