Sao Domingos: Christmas
Last week my email didn't get out so sorry for the two emails in one day! I'll keep this one short!
This week didn't necessarily feel like Christmas as every day it was either burning hot or pouring down rain, but nevertheless we found some ways to celebrate!
Thursday we had a big mission Christmas Conference and it was crazy to see everyone in the mission. A lot of the people in the country were part of the mission I had never met or seen before! It was a great day of food and talking about Christ and watching a mission talent show. My favorite part is when my companion and I participated in a choir number with some other missionaries! I miss singing in a choir, and Christmas music always brings the spirit! Our zone also did a music to "Here Comes Santa Claus" but it was "Here Comes President and Sister Cook" and I played the role of Sister Cook! It was really fun and I think everyone liked it, even President and Sister Cook!
Our Christmas gift from President and Sister Cook was a Book of Mormon with our names on it, and the challenge to read the whole thing in two months together as a mission! I'm a little nervous cause it's been 5 months since I started reading in Portuguese and I'm not even half way, but I am also really excited for this opportunity to study more focusing on the Savior!
Spent Christmas with the Kutomi family which was really sweet of them to invite us! Lots of really good food and singing Christmas hymns! Unfortunately we forgot to take photos, but we do have a photo of a snail we saw one day when we were walking. Hope that makes up for it!
Here is some awesome Christmas Content that I studied this week! If you only have time to look at one, check out this first talk from President Monson!
Até mais,
Sister Pinkney
