Jandira: Milagres
We are back at the point where the week passed by so fast but looking back I do not believe that the things that happened this week were just this week!
Everyday we are working hard, walking up and down lots of hills. So many things happened but I am short on time so I will narrow it down to 2.
The first day I arrived in this area, we had an interesting experience that had to with a caterpillar crawling up Sister Franco's dress in the middle of a prayer. It was a prayer to find help to open her suitcase because it was stuck shut. Well our prayer was answered, and the next day we had found that the caterpillar had formed entered its chrysalis. Well, 3 weeks later and the caterpillar finally emerge a butterfly and it was a very sweet moment.
It is very fitting, as since I arrived here in Jandira, I have changed so much. Day after day, the Savior helps us to do that. To change our natures, to become butterflies. This week, I read Ether 12 where we learn that the Lord gives us weakness, but if we turn to him, He can make them strengths.
None of us are perfect, but we are learning. As we do the small and simple things everyday, the Lord changes us.
The other experience that I had this week was an answer to a prayer. Early in the week as we were leaving to try and find new people to teach I said a prayer that we would find a family to go to church that Sunday. I forgot about that prayer until later in the week when we knocked on Jose's door. José is a man who solicited on the site comeuntocrist.org a while back and the missionaries never successful entered into contact with him.
After some help from one of his neighbors, we met José and started to teach him the message of the Restoration. We planned to return the next day (Saturday) and share more. Saturday, we taught about the Restoration of the Gospel again to José and his wife and the Spirit was so strong. We challenged them to come to church the next day.
As we were leaving, my companion said to me "they could be our family to go to church," reminding me of the prayer that I had forgot I said!
Sunday morning, José and Elizabeth came to church and it was such a happy moment. We never know what is going to happen but we can always trust that the Lord hears and answers our prayers, in His own time.
Eu amo meu Salvador.
Eu amo vocês muito, yo les quiero mucho, I love you all!!
