Jandira: Trusting in the Lord
Jandira is truly an area with lots of miracles. Everyday we see the Lord's hand guiding our lives and everyday is a new adventure.
This week, Sister Evangelista did exchanges with the other Sisters in our zone and so the week was pretty hectic, but it was fun to spend a day with Sister Resendes and Sister Butikofer!
Our "daughters" have 2 months on the mission! Wow, this month went by really fast and it is already the last week of the transfer so stay tuned for next week to see if I will stay here or not!
The biggest shock of the week is that Sister Evangelista received her visa! She was originally assigned to serve in the Dominican Republic and after 9 months her visa arrived! It was a day of mixed emotions when we found out because we are super excited for her but we will also miss her lots! Spent an hour or so crying together on the floor, but all good things must come to an end eventually!
We ate lots of good food, had some family home evenings with the members, and talked to lots of people. Normal missionary work, but this area never lacks people to find or to teach which is an absolute blessing. One day, we knocked on a door and the woman told us that earlier that day she had been telling her friend that she feels distant from God.
One day it rained so much that we arrived for a family home evening completely soaked. The sweet member gave us all clothes to use and it was a memorable night learning about how we can do anything in the strength of the Lord. Our friend Lucas who is preparing to be baptized this week was there and he is an absolute hoot!
