Jandira: My Life is a Musical

Okay, for those of you who know the musical, "Guys and Dolls". Well, let me tell you all a story that happened this week. One day, we are coming home from lunch and we pass a guy sitting and waiting at the bus stop. We stop to talk to him and end up sitting there on the bench talking to him. He had a bunch of questions about missionary work and our lives here in Jandira. We later find out that he is the founder of his church and he asked us if we believe in dreams. He then started to tell us about a dream he had where he was in a boat in the middle of dirty water, and there were other people around him also in boats. The dirty water represents things of the world and some of the people drowned in the water, some got in and then out again. In the end, he tells us he wrote a song and asks if he can share it with. At this point we really need to get to our next appointment, but he insists on singing this song. And the whole time I am thinking about that story from Guys and Dolls where he gets up and starts to sing about the dream he had. And it is like, the exact same thing. Different music. Same story. For those of you who can, look up "Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat" from Guys and Dolls. And just imagine me and my companion there on a bus bench watching this happen in front of us. My life is like a musical.

This week, we also had a miracle where the Lord guided us exactly where we needed to be and me and my companion gave the message about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was one of the most powerful lessons we have ever given. And everyone in the room could testify of the spirit that was there. Even though it seems these people do not have interest in continuing to meet with us, it will always be a miracle to me, the spirit that testifies of the message that we as missionaries share. This is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have no doubts about it. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ has the power and authority of God here on the earth. If you have never listened to the missionaries, please give them a chance, and listen to what they have to say. There is power in these messages.

That is all for this week, love you guys, love the gospel,

Sister Pinkney
