Arvore Grande: Alma 32:7

The Book of Mormon is magnificent. 

Some versus that stood out to me this week:

Mosiah 17

20 And now, when Abinadi had said these words, he fell, having suffered death by fire; yea, having been put to death because he would not deny the commandments of God, having sealed the truth of his words by his death.

Are we teaching the principles of the gospel with more than our words? Do our actions reflect what we believe?

Mosiah 23 

21 Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith. 

22 Nevertheless—whosoever putteth his trust in him the same shall be lifted up at the last day. Yea, and thus it was with this people.

The challenges that we face in this life do not mean that the Lord does not love us. He loves us so much that he gives us what we need to grow. We can always trust that he has a plan for us.

This week we had a tour of the church with our friend, and she loved it. She felt the spirit strongly and at the end told us that she thinks she has found her place. At stake conference she then started to cry when the stake president shared a story about a women in a very similar situation as her own who found comfort in the church. That was an answer to me and my companions prayers that the speakers would say what our friends where needing to hear.

Stake conference this week was absolutely amazing. I really feel at home in this stake and I am grateful for all the support we receive from the members! 

It was great to see some old companions, Sister Clarindo and Sister Fernandes, at the mission leadership conference. President Walker continually calls us to do better and be better. It was a great experience learning from him, Sister Walker, the assistants and other missionaries!

Other notable things:

- we ate lunch at a members house who LOVES the color purple. And almost everything in her house is purple. She just finished painting the kitchen purple.

- we visited another member who prepared a banquet for us and I regret not having a bigger stomach to eat more!

- it was extremely hot. Like, we can not sleep at night because it is so hot. We decided to sleep on the floor because it was cooler.

- I made cinnamon rolls

- I got to translate for Sister Walker in stake conference. I wasn't too nervous, but my hand was shaking like crazy
